PURE HARD DANCE

PHD - Pure Hard Dance was founded & is run by Directors Brendan & Jill SOUL-T & began in Melbourne CBD July 2002 as a weekly Saturday Day Party. PHD is now a weekly Melbourne Saturday Night Party @ Inflation Nightclub Geddes Lane CBD & has always been the biggest & best part of the Melbourne rave scene. PHD is also a successful merchandise brand all over the world.

Beginning at the Sugar Suite, a small bar in Melbourne's CBD in July 2002, PHD quickly out grew this venue & moved to Altitude, also in Melbourne's CBD. Altitude was a much bigger & better suited venue which was at capacity every week. Almost 2 years later, PHD was on the move again. We had also out grown Altitude. Our stay at F Four was very short lived, one week in fact. The crowd that gathered to F Four was too big for surrounding shop front businesses which had forced PHD to move yet again. Full of supporting die hard PHD fans, Scubar became a temporary option the following 3 weeks & was still. July 30 was the beginning of The Inflation Era & a long standing relationship. PHD is now very comfortably at home at Inflation who has made it a much better option for atmosphere, sound & production. There has never been a club in Melbourne Club history with so many passionate supporters & the capacity to fill different venues week to week at only a moments notice.

Hundreds of people have travelled near & far to show their support for PHD, what it stands for & what it means to them. Some people have even tattooed the PHD logo permanently on their bodies to remind them of the best days of their lives @ PHD.

PHD has given back to the supporters who travel many miles by touring a selection of regional country areas, Interstate & Internationally. PHD has been to Malaysia, Geelong, Sheparton, Traralgon, Sydney, Brisbane & Adelaide with forthcoming coming tours to Perth, Tasmania, Singapore & many more TBA.

PHD has also holds a number of very successful PHD branded annual parties; Pyjama Party, Slumber Party, PHD Birthday Parties & Beautiful Day NYD. All of these parties have the reputation for quality music, DJs & stage productions like no other & has established respect & a guaranteed capacity crowd @ the Hi Fi Bar. PHD has also hosted rooms @ other large scale parties.

PHD is not only a club & brand name, it's a very big family orientated based group doing it for all the right reasons. PHD is & always will be unparalleled by any other club brand in the scene & still continues to gather interest & support from many other event organizations locally, nationally & internationally, punters & DJs alike & has established some what of a cult following & is renowned for it's quality of production, DJs, music, atmosphere & people making it one of the biggest & best club brands Melbourne has ever seen.

PHD also has a popular & informative web site; www.pureharddance.com that includes everything you need to know both past & present including a weekly updated line up of DJs, an about PHD section, a DJ profile section, a merchandise section, a photo gallery, a links section & a forum.

The huge range of PHD merchandise has become rave uniform & has also been as successful as the club brand. There is not one rave or dance event where PHD merchandise is not present. In fact touring DJs will tell you it is also in most countries they have played.

In July 2008, PHD opened it’s very own Digital Recording Label; PHD Pure Hard Dance Digital Recordings.
